Due to the tragic deaths this year, of two of our members –  John Garrihie and John Keane  – we postponed this competition from the scheduled date in October.
Later as a tribute to both,  we did have an outing in Blackhead on 3rd Dec.
However during the competition we had an accident – Bill Rothwell slipped and fell in to the water. With the help of fellow anglers and some locals there at the time Bill was quickly retrieved but suffered from slight hypothermia and sore ribs. Rescue helicopter  was called and he was transferred to hospital.

Bill later made a full recovery

The event was abandoned at the time of the accident.
At that point the records showed that Aidan O’Halloran was leading so we declared him the winner.
